| The most lovely morning we have
experienced since our arrival in New Zealand. Warm Sun but with gentle refreshing breeze
from the sea. Up at half past 5 and got Arthur off by Harford's Dray with Sarah , Wallace and chairs for cabinet maker to repair also plinths of sideboard at half past 6. Followed myself on "Lucy" at a quarter to eight having to attend the court on "Charles Mason's" trial. I called at Longars on my way and saw Mr Felix Wakefield for a few moments. Rode into town with Dr Laking who overtook me and arrived at 10. About 11 I arrived before the Grand Jury the Judge and the letter refusing to have Arthur Sworn, I sent him to Creasy's after hanging about the Court until 2pm. Saw Felix Wakefield and went with him for a short walk around the ----- back to court about 3 and the case came on ----- in Mason's acquittal. went down to Schlanders and unpacked ------ left -------- of sideboard at --------- and brought up a good many sundries in Harfords Dray as also ----- ------ Carpet. Sent Arthur away with Harford Dray at half past 5 and followed myself at about 7 Caught them at "Star and Garter" and home at half past 9. Paid Thompson for service of his Bull to "Dinah"
